Boating

The Fort Walton Yacht Club has a deep and rich history on the water. Whether you are a sailor or a power boater, the FWYC is the place to be.

The club has a fleet of sailboats for the members to use at no additional cost to the membership. The boats are maintained and stored at the club, and can be checked out on a first come first served basis.

For those who have been sailing for years or just starting to get interested in the sport, the Fort Walton Yacht Club has what it takes to get you on the water. Through our partner ship with Emerald Coast Sailing Association, we are the host for the sailing summer camp that teaches sailors from the ages of 7 to 18 how to sail.

For more information about sailing camps, please visit their website at https://ecsasailing.com.

If you are new to the sport and would like to lean how but sailing camp is not in your future. You can take sailing lesson with the Sailing Director or you can join a crew on Wednesday nights to get some on the job training while getting to know other members. We also have a small fleet of sailboats that can be checked out at no additional cost to the members. The Sailing Director will be able to go through the boat with you if you are unfamiliar to ensure you are safe on the water.

Fishing

The Destin/Fort Walton Beach area is known as the World's “Luckiest” Fishing Village due to the variety of depths and the unique coastline. The waters have migratory fish throughout the year which make this an ideal place for anglers. This along with the pristine waters of the Emerald Coast and the white sandy beaches makes the Fort Walton Yacht Club a great place for power boaters.
