Whether you enjoy fishing for the sport of it or just to relax, the Fort Walton Yacht Club is the perfect place to start your adventure. We are located on Smack Point in the Choctawhatchee Bay and have easy access to inshore and offshore fishing.
 
Anglers can fish off Smack Point or in the Choctawhatchee Bay for some inshore fishing. If you are looking for offshore fish, we are only 5.2 nautical miles to the Gulf of Mexico. It is a common sight to see fishermen casting nets for bait fish early in the morning hours in Jetty East before they go offshore fishing for the day.   
 
For those interested in cruising or a day on the water, Fort Walton Yacht Club’s accessibility is hard to beat. A short run over to world famous Crab Island where the family can enjoy the shallow waters of the crystalline incoming tide. Or expand your boating boundaries by taking the Intercoastal Waterway East towards Panama City or West towards Texas. If offshore adventure is your dream or reality, go south under the Destin Bridge into the Gulf of Mexico towards South America or beyond.
 
The Fort Walton Yacht Club offers other cruising events around the beautiful Emerald Coast and raft ups. Whether you go only for the day or overnight, Raft-ups are a great way to get to know your fellow yacht club members.
